Harmon Joins Executive Team with Melinda Marks, VP of Marketing, to Expand Market Awareness for New Approach to Solving People-Hacking
March 5, 2019, SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – at RSA Conference – Armorblox, the company bringing natural language understanding (NLU) to security, today announced that Brian Harmon has joined the company as Executive VP of Sales. Harmon will lead the sales team to drive revenue growth for the company. He joins the executive staff along with Melinda Marks, who joined recently as VP of Marketing to lead the company’s recent launch from stealth mode. Armorblox is exhibiting this week at RSA conference in the Early Stage Expo, in Kiosk #23.
Harmon has spent the last 30 years as a senior sales and marketing executive building profitable growth in the security, technology services and telecommunications industries. Leading the charge at Palo Alto Networks, Trend Micro, Agari, and Illusive Networks, Brian has a reputation for over-performance, building and leading exceptional sales teams, and steering go-to-market strategies.
“The approach the Armorblox team is taking to bring insight and protection into the market is revolutionary,” said Harmon. “Understanding the human behavior behind advanced attacks is a huge advantage in identifying and protecting enterprises against the large number of threats that continue to grow and evolve. It’s about the people, the technology, and the vision that made this a no brainer for me.“
Marks is also an industry veteran, with more than 20 years experience leading marketing programs at high tech and security companies. With her passion for building market-leading brands, her experience includes over 6 years at VMware, where she built the customer reference program, and later led public relations for the company’s portfolio of products. She also spent 4 years at Qualys, where she ran global communications through the company’s IPO. She also led market intelligence and product marketing teams at Tenable, and has run marketing for security startups, including StackRox and Styra.
“Nobody wants to be the source of a data breach or fall victim to attack, and hackers are using impersonation and communication techniques that bypass security tools,” said Marks. “By applying machine learning to analyze textual communications, Armorblox is helping organizations detect attacks that their other solutions could not catch. I’m thrilled to work with this all-star team to bring this technology to organizations to empower employees to protect personal and company data.”
